Punjab Khadi Board disburses Rs 3.47 cr subsidy in FY11 so far
Chandigarh, Feb 2 (PTI) Punjab Khadi and VillageIndustries Board (PKVIB) today said that it has disbursedsubsidy to the tune of Rs 3.47 crore so far this fiscal forsetting up 169 units in the state.
In FY 2008-09, the subsidy was disbursed to the tune ofRs 3.37 crore to 156 units and in 2009-10 financial year, thesubsidy went up to Rs 6.21 crore to 268 units, PKVIB ChairmanVijay Sampla told reporters here.
PKVIB, established in the year 1957 under the PunjabKhadi and Village Industries Board Act of 1956 is dedicated toprovide financial assistance to the rural people to set upvillage industries, create opportunities of generation ofsustainable employment for the rural unemployed of the state,he said.

Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Industries MinisterManoranjan Kalia said availability of information in twolanguages is a unique feature of the website.
