Nigerians top list of foreigners overstaying in Goa
Panaji, Feb 2 (PTI) Nigerians top the list of foreignnationals who were found overstaying in Goa during last oneyear, the State Legislative Assembly was informed today.
As per the data tabled on the floor of the house duringthe ongoing Assembly session, 13 Nigerians were amongst 36foreigners who were arrested last calendar year for illegallyoverstaying in the state.
State Home Minister Ravi Naik said all the foreignerswere subsequently ordered to leave the country.
The record indicates that Russians are the second largestnumber of foreigners to be arrested for overstaying.
A total of eight Russians were arrested last year.
Other nationals including Italians, Latvians, Iranians,Germans, Israeli and Portuguese nationals were also deportedto their home country last year.
