Man strangulates 1-wk old son to death

Medininagar (Jharkhand), Feb 1 (PTI) In a bizarreincident, a man allegedly strangulated his week-old son todeath at Satvahini village in Palamu district, police todaysaid.

Manoj Paswan was arrested last evening for allegedlythrottling the baby boy to death on Sunday to punish his wifewhom he suspected to have extra-marital affairs, DeputySupenintendent of Police Girish Pandey said.

The toddler''s body was dug out from the Koyal by thepolice today.

Paswan''s arrest was preceded by an FIR lodged on thestatement of the child''s grandmother Urmila Devi.
