Congress leader booked under Gangster Act

Muzaffarnagar, Feb 2 (PTI) A case under Gangster Actwas registered today against a Congress leader for his allegedinvolvement in several criminal cases, a senior policeofficial said.

Rajvir Singh, former Uttar Pradesh Congress GeneralSecretary, was arrested for landing his helicopter withoutpermission and later misbehaving with the police when theytried to prevent him at Roorkie on January 27, 2011. Theleader has now also been booked under Gangster act,Superintendent of Police (city) K B Singh said.

The bail plea of the accused has also been rejected bythe district magistrate of Roorkie, Singh said.
