BJP criticises Chidambaram''s Ekta Yatra remark

Jammu, Feb 1 (PTI) A BJP leader today criticised HomeMinister P Chidambaram for complimenting Jammu and Kashmirgovernment for "tactful" handling of BJP''s Ekta Yatra, seekingto hoist the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on January 26.

"We express serious concern over the Union Home Minister PChidambram''s remarks complementing the Jammu and Kashmir ChiefMinister for what he described as tactful handling ofBharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Rashtriya Ekta Yatra last week,"BJP spokesperson and national executive member Jitendra Singhtold reporters.

It was also a gross impropriety on the part ofChidambaram to compliment the state authorities which hadunauthorisedly kept in illegal detention three senior BJPnational leaders two of whom Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swarajenjoyed the status of Union cabinet ministers, he said.
