Seva Dal to seek five seats in TN polls

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 31 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Congress Seva Dalwould request Congress President Sonia Gandhi for five seatsin the forthcoming Assembly elections, the State ChiefOrganiser said today.

Kovai Selvaraj said a special representative state-levelconference of the Seva Dal, the grassroots frontorganisation of the Congress, would be held in Chennai onMarch 6, 2011 and Sonia had been invited.

He added senior ministers including P Chidambaram, PranabMukherjee, and the TNCC president KV Thangabalu wouldparticipate.

The Seva Dal would make a representation to Sonia to givethem five MLA seats, he said.

Selvaraj said during a recent meeting with Sonia, she hadasked the State Seva Dal to set up booth committees, with fivemembers each, for the Assembly constituencies.
