Scams: Par panel to look into management of defence lands
New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) With a series of land scamsembarrasing the armed forces, a Parliamentary panel today saidit would take up the issue of management of defence lands andfunctioning of military cantonments.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, headedby Congress MP Satpal Maharaj, has sought suggestions from thepublic, experts and professionals on the issue within twoweeks.
The memoranda submitted to the committee would form partof the records and will be treated as strictly confidential.
The armed forces have been hit by a series of land scamssuch as the Sukna military station case in West Bengal, theAdarsh Housing Society in Mumbai and the Kandivali land casein suburban Mumbai.
