Complaint filed against Kumaraswamy before Lokayukta

Bangalore, Jan 31 (PTI) An advocate today filed acompliant before Karnataka Lokayukta against former ChiefMinister H D Kumarswamy seeking investigations into hisalleged acts of misuse of power, favouritism and causing lossto the state exchequer.

The complainant, Tulasidas Havanur, alleged that whenKumarswamy was the chief minister between February 2006 toOctober 2007 he allotted 80.13 acres in bulk to a privatehousing cooperative society in the city violating SupremeCourt and High Court orders.

This allotment was made for gains, the complaint allegedand charged the JD-S leader got allotment of a 110 ft by 150ft site in his wife Anita''s name. But she later returned it tothe society on the grounds that she did not like the location.

Havanur also claimed that Kumarswamy granted mining leaseillegally to a mining firm and his family got allotment of 46sites in Mysore.

The complaint also alleged land grabbing by former PrimeMinister H D Deve Gowda and his family.

This is the second complaint being filed beforeLokayukta after the one submitted by an Advocate Tahaggihallirecently.

Later speaking to PTI, Lokayukta Santosh Hegde saidwhile the earlier complaint had been referred to preliminaryenquiry by Lokayukta police, "the complaint that has beenfiled today has been accepted and is being inquired into."

JD-S has also filed a complaint before Lokayukta againstChief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for illegally denotifying andallotting lands to his sons and other family members.
