BJP demands prosecution of guilty Prasar Bharti officials
New Delhi, Feb 1 (PTI) BJP today demanded earlyprosecution of Prasar Bharti officials found guilty by theShunglu Committee of allegedly causing a loss of several crorerupees in awarding Commonwealth Games broadcasting rights.
"Now prosecution should be sanctioned against theofficers whose names have appeared. It has been proved thatloot has taken place in the organising, infrastructure andtelecast dealings," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar toldreporters here.
He alleged that it was the "speciality of the UPAgovernment to sanction higher bills to make money."
Questioning the delay in prosecuting the officials, hedemanded immediate filing of the FIR against the accused.
The Committee had yesterday submitted an interimreport on alleged irregularities in awarding broadcastingrights during Commonwealth Games to the PMO.
