34 bonded labourers rescued from brick kiln
Lucknow, Jan 31 (PTI) Police today rescued 34 people,including nine women and 13 children, held captive as bondedlabourers at a brick kiln in UP''s Sitapur district.
"Acting on a tip-off, police raided Baba brick kiln inMalethu village and rescued 34 people held captive as bondedlabourers," Special DGP Brij Lal told reporters here.
Two persons, including the accountant and security guardof the kiln, have been arrested and efforts are on to nab itsowner, currently absconding.
"All the people rescued are native of Bilaspur and werebeing forced to work as bonded labourer from the last fivemonths," he said.
