Villagers nab militant in Manipur

Imphal, Jan 31 (PTI) Villagers nabbed a militant who cameto extort money at Lamlai area in Imphal East district, policesaid today.

The militant, identified L Davidson (24), was rounded upby the villagers and handed over to the Lamlai police stationyesterday.

Davidson, a resident of Lamlai area, is a member ofKangleipak Communist Party-Military Council and was nabbed byvillagers while he was trying to extort money, police said.

A 9 mm pistol, one magazine and four rounds of ammunitionwas recovered from him, they said adding that he was beinginterrogated.
