Tata officers safe in Cairo, returning today
Jamshedpur, Jan 31(PTI) Senior Tata Steel officialswho had been to trouble-torn Cairo to participate in a companyconference were all safe and expected to return today, acompany official said here.
Over 150 company officials, including vice-presidents A MMishra, Varun Jha, Partho Sengupta who were in Cairo toparticipate in a conference, were all safe and half of themwould be returning late in the day today, Sanjib Paul,Vice-president (corporate communication) of Tata Steel, said.
The Indian government, he said, had sent a plane tobring them back.
"We are expecting half of our officials to be back hometoday and the rest by tomorrow".
The company officials had left the country in two /three groups from Mumbai, Kolkata and Jamshedpur and hadreached Cairo three days ago.
Paul, who himself was to join the officials for thepurpose, had returned mid-way from Zurich after he wasapprised of the trouble in Cairo.
