Sugar eases on sluggish demand
Mumbai, Jan 31 (PTI) Sugar prices eased at the VashiWholesale market here today due to reduced demand fromstockists and bulk consumers amidst higher stock positions.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) moved down by Rs 14 perquintal to Rs 2,872/2,931 from last Saturday''s closing levelof Rs 2,886/2,931.
Small sugar quality (S-30) also softened by Rs 5 perquintal to Rs 2,850/2,871 as against Rs 2,850/2,876 lastweekend.
The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,850/2,871 (Rs 2,850/2,876) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,872/2,931(Rs 2,886/2,931).
