Stop showing obscenity: Jharkhand Speaker to TV channels
Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Jan 30 (PTI) Jharkhand SpeakerC P Singh today asked the electronic media to desist fromshowing obscene picture and dance programmes, and promotetraditional Indian art and culture instead.
"Electronic media is ruining Indian art and culture bydisplaying obscene pictures and dances of Western culture,forgetting our tradition. The glorious Indian culture and artshould be promoted to inculcate values in the children for themaking of a good society," Singh said after inaugurating acultural programme ''Kishalay'' to focus on the youth in thefield of classical dance.
Regretting the poor turn out to watch the talentedchild artistes perform, he remarked, "had it been any vulgardance or rock dance or pop music it would have been housefull".
Appreciating Sanshkar Bharati, the organisers, fortheir efforts to keep Indian traditional alive, Singh appealedparents to encourage their children to take up classicalmusic.
