Raj Thackeray travels by suburban train

Mumbai, Jan 31 (PTI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena presidentRaj Thackeray today travelled on a suburban local train,reminding the people of a similar journey by Congress generalsecretary Rahul Gandhi last year.

Raj travelled from suburban Dombivali, to Dadar incentral Mumbai (where he lives) on the train, and blamedincreasing number of "outsiders" for the rush.

He also said that he was not aping Rahul Gandhi. TheDombivali-Dadar road was very bad, and people prefer trains,he said.

"This is not the first time I am travelling by train. Iused to take trains during my college days some 25 yearsago," Raj told reporters.

"But now the crowd is increasing like anything, and theoutsiders coming to the city are responsible for this burdenon the infrastructure," he said.

Raj was in Dombivali to meet the party corporators whogot elected in the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporationpolls three months ago.

Rahul Gandhi had taken the people and the media bysurprise when he travelled in the general compartment of alocal train while in Mumbai last February.
