Sonawane murder: Key culprit Popat Shinde dies

Popat Shinde, a key kingpin in the brutal murder of Yashwant Sonawane suffered more than 70 percent burnt injuries when he was admitted to the JJ Hospital on Jan 25.
Shinde was the one of the people responsible for the murder of the Additional District Collector. He apparently poured kerosene over Sonawane when he tried to take photographs of kerosene being stolen from an oil tanker.
The main culprit is believed to have received injuries when Sonawane held on to him after he was set on fire.

However, in a shocking revelation, some of the detained members of the oil mafia stated that the deceased Sonawane had demanded a "bribe" to settle the matter when he spotted oil adulteration near Manmad.
