Guv to fete Maha NCC team which won PM''s Banner again
Mumbai, Jan 31 (PTI) Maharashtra Governor KSankaranarayanan will host a special reception for the 110member strong NCC contingent from Maharashtra, comprising 70boys and 40 girl cadets, which won the prestigious PrimeMinister''s Banner at the Republic Day camp, tomorrow.
The contingent won several individual and team medals andtrophies at the Republic Day camp held in New Delhi.
According to Brigadier P C Roy, Deputy Director Generalof the Maharashtra NCC, this is the 14th time in the last 20years that Maharashtra NCC team won the Prime Minister''sBanner.
The achievement of Maharashtra NCC assumes significanceconsidering the fact that 1950 cadets from 17 NCC directoratesin the country had participated in the Republic Day Camp.
Cadets from some friendly foreign countries had alsoparticipated in the camp.
At the reception tomorrow, cadets will display medalsdisplay and make a cultural presentation at Raj Bhavan, anofficial said.
