Dogra demands govt sponsor team for Mr Universe event

Vadodara, Jan 31 (PTI)Former World Champion in bodybuilding and General Secretary of the Indian Body BuildersFederation (IBBF) Prem Chand Dogra has demanded that the Uniongovernment sponsor the participation of the Indian team in theforthcoming Mr Universe championship.

Talking to PTI here today, Dogra asked, "why thegovernment of India does not recognize body building as asport activity."

Body building is getting recognition at both national andinternational level and more and more people are joining thisupcoming area as a profession, he added.

Dogra demanded that the Union government sponsor theIndian team for the Mr Universe competition to be held inMiami, US in June this year.

Dogra was in city in connection with 3rd Senior MrIndia 2011 body building championship organised at GujaratPublic School in Kalali on the outskirt of the city in which240 participants from 27 states took part.
