Cong women win Municipality chairpersons polls in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Jan 31 (PTI) Congress won two out of threeseats in the electoral battle for municipality chairpersons inthe recent general elections held in Rajasthan.

BJP won a seat at Malpura in Tonk district, where theparty''s candidate Subhash Galav defeated his nearest rivalIbrahim of Congress with a margin of 2336 votes, a stateelection commission official said today.

The results were declared after the counting tookplace yesterday, he said.

Congress women Anita Suwalka and Asha Paliwal won theTodaraisingh Municipality seat in Tonk district and one inRajsamand municipality.

Out of total 75 ward member seats, Congress won 32seats, BJP 36 and Independents seven.
