22 peacocks found dead in Rajkot district
Rajkot, Jan 31 (PTI) As many as 22 peacocks have beenfound dead in Wankaner Vidi area in the district in the lastfew days and forest department has initiated an inquiry inthis regard, officials said.
"We have set up nine teams to search every corner of thearea to find out the exact cause of the bird deaths," forestdepartment official Lalitbhai Parmar said.
The carcasses of the birds, found in the last five days,have been sent to Junagadh and Anand veterinary laboratories,the senior official said.
Forest department suspects that pesticides may be thecause behind the deaths.
