Two hardcore Maoists arrested in Orissa

Malkangiri (Orissa), Jan 30 (PTI) Police todayarrested two hardcore Maoists and seized a gun and a minefrom their possession in Malkangiri district.

Superintendent of Police Anirudha Singh said the duowas spotted at Techguda jungle during a joint combingoperation by the state''s elite anti-naxalite force, theSpecial Operation Group and District Volunteer Force.

They belonged to Kalimela Dalam unit of the outlawedoutfit and involved in a series of violence, Singh said.

"The police also recovered a directional mine fromtheir possession," the superintendent said.

The two were identified as Linga Madkami (35) ofTechguda colony and Dula Madhi (25) of Kanaguda village underKalimela police station area, he said.
