Two arrested for illegally stocking 35,000 quintals of rice

Etah, Jan 29 (PTI) Two persons were arrested and 35,000quintals of illegally stored rice was recovered from a ricemill during a raid, officials said.

A raid was carried out at Mamta rice mill in Jaitharablock last evening, in which 35,000 quintal rice, which wasillegally stocked was recovered, sub-divisional magistrate B KAgarwal said.

He said that two employees of the rice mill werearrested and a case had been lodged against the owner SanjayGupta.

While 31,000 quintal rice was packed in sacks, another4,000 quintal was lying open, the SDM said.
