Nepalese president offers prayers at Tirumala temple

Tirupati, Jan 30 (PTI) Nepalese President Ram BaranYadav today offered prayers at the famous hill shrine of LordVenkateswara at Tirumala near here.

He was accompanied by his family members and a team ofofficials.

On arrival, the 63-year-old was accorded a traditionalwelcome by officials of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams whichmanages the over 2000-year-old shrine.

After offering worship, the president was presentedwith a sacred silk cloth and offered celestial water and ladduprasadam. Later, the high priests invoked divine blessingsupon him, temple sources said.

Ram Baran Yadav, who is on a 10-day official visit toIndia since Thursday last, reached the hills by road fromBangalore this afternoon.
