Freecharge.in aims to add 25-lakh customers by end-2012

Mumbai, Jan 30 (PTI) Freecharge.in, an e-commerceservice that enables users to recharge any prepaid mobilephone in India, is aiming to add 25-lakh more customers by2012.

"We are very young, but growing very fast in India. Atpresent, we have three-lakh customers and expect to add 25lakh more by December 2012," Freecharge.in Chief ExecutiveOffice Kunal Shah told PTI here.

"Our offering is unique as the amount paid by the userfor recharge is returned in the form of shopping coupons ofsome of the top retailers in India, thereby making therecharge virtually free," he said.

Freecharge.in combines the idea of cash-back withprepaid recharge. One can recharge for any amount between Rs10-1,000 and get coupons worth exactly the amount of recharge.

It offers free coupons from retailers like McDonald''sand Barista for the amount spent by the customer.

"We have so far tied up with 13 retail outlets andplan to tie-up with 20 more outlets in the next two months,"Shah said.

"Currently, there is no service that offers any formof coupons or cash-back for mobile recharges. We want to tapthe opportunities by adding more customers in the comingdays."

Launched in August last year, freecharge.in is doingaround 2,500 transactions everyday in India.
