Elderly couple robbed after being drugged

New Delhi, Jan 30 (PTI) An elderly couple were druggedand robbed by their domestic help hired just a day ago in westDelhi, police said today.

The incident took place in Vikaspuri Thursday nightand the victims were identified as N R Dogra (65), a retiredgovernment servant, and his wife Kavita (59).

They were given dinner laced with sedatives by theirdomestic help Vikram (25) hailing from Nepal on Thursday whoallegedly decamped with some articles.

Their son and daughter-in-law had gone to Jammu toattend a wedding. Vikram was hired on January 26 and theemployees did not make him fill the mandatory servantverification form.

The incident came to light when the son was trying tocontact his father over phone. When he did not get anyresponse, he asked one of his cousins to find out what waswrong.

The cousin found the doors open and the couplefrothing from the mouth, a senior police official said.

The couple were rushed to a nearby hospital.
