Protest against Shahrukh; HC wrath on activist

Mumbai, Jan 30: A Mumbai based activist faced the wrath of Bombay High Court over filing petition against Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan.

The High Court fined Rs 20,000 on the activist Simpreet Singh over filing a case against Shahrukh regarding his bungalow Mannat and wasting the court's valuable time.

Simpreet Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Shahrukh, alleging that he (SRK) violated Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) and other rules by constructing a building, an extension to his bungalow in Mannat.

The court dismissed the case against SRK by claiming that the petitioner intention was publicity only.

The government had cancelled the reservation in 2000 and the actor started the construction work only in 2006.
