9-year-old girl raped

Azamgarh, Jan 29 (PTI) A nine-year-old girl wasallegedly raped by a teenager in Kotwali area, police sourcessaid here today.

The girl was forcibly dragged into a field by onePawan Chauhan (16) in Hafizpur village last evening, they saidadding the incident occurred when the victim was on her way toattend a house warming function.

Chauhan was later caught by local residents and washanded over to the police, they said, adding the girl, whohails from Bihar, was initially admitted to the districthospital from where she was referred to Varanasi in a seriouscondition.
