S. Korea drops demand for N. Korea apology for resumption of Six-Party talks
Beijing, Jan.29 (ANI): South Korea has dropped its demand for an apology from North Korea for last year's deadly attacks in the interest of restarting the Six-Party Talks on the Korean Peninsula.
A senior South Korean official said the paramount precondition for reconvening the Six-Party Talks is Pyongyang's sincerity about dismantling its nuclear weapons program.
Previously, according to the China Daily, South Korea had demanded that North Korea apologize for sinking the warship Cheonan in March 2010 and for the missile attack on Yeonpyeong Island in November 2010.
Seoul now says that an apology is no longer a prerequisite. (ANI)
