African country 'bans' flatulence!
London, Jan 29 (ANI): A law that will literally knock the wind out of anyone has been declared in Malawi.
The government in Malawi has said that it will punish offenders who "pollute the air" - a move intended to make citizens "responsible and disciplined."
Critics, however, fear that it will only lead to passing blames from one to the other.
One said prankster children could use any new law to embarrass respected elders.
"What happens in a public place where a group is gathered. Do they lock up half a minibus?" the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
"How about meetings where it is difficult to pinpoint culprits?" And one man said the nation, one of the world's poorest, had more serious problems, such as corruption, to solve." (ANI)
