Measles claims lives of two children

Gonda (UP), Jan 28 (PTI) Two children have died andover a dozen have been taken ill due to an outbreak of measlesin Khajuria village of the district, health officials saidtoday.

Sonu (8) and Shanti (6) died due to measles yesterdayand over a dozen children are ill in the village due to theinfection, they said.

Chief Medical Officer MP Tripathi said that teams ofdoctors have been rushed to the village to treat the children.

Measles is an infection of the respiratory system andis highly contagious.
