House of Karmapa''s aide raided, foreign currency recovered
Dharamsala, Jan 27 (PTI) Police today raided the houseof a close aide of Karmapa here and recovered a huge amount ofIndian and foreign currency which is suspected to be blackmoney.
The money was recovered from the house of R Choesandwho is a high-ranking official in the Tibetan Narbulingamonastery and said to be close to 17th Karmapa Ugyen TrinleyDorje, police said.
"The recovery and counting of the foreign currency isstill on and the amount will be ascertained soon," said SSP ofKangra District Daljit Singh Thakur.
Police raided the Tibetan official''s house after theyarrested three persons in Una in Kangra district and recoveredRs one crore from them. On interrogation the trio said theywere carrying the money to the Tibetan monastery for a landdeal.
However, police did not divulge further details,saying investigations are going on.
