BSF guns down cattle smuggler
Agartala, Jan 27 (PTI) Border Security Force (BSF)personnel today gunned down an alleged cattle smuggler atDurgapur, a village near the Indo-Bangla international borderin West Tripura district, about 65 km from here,�police said.
BSF personnel opened fire at one Abdul Hoque, when hewas running towards the border with some cattle,Superintendent of police, Tushar Kanti Das told reporters.
Das said a BSF patrolling party spotted that oneperson was running with cattle and then asked him to stop andwhen he refused, they opened fire killing him on the spot.
Additional police and BSF forces have been deployed inthe area to defuse tension.
