5 robbers held

New Delhi, Jan 27 (PTI) Five youths were arrested fromOuter Delhi for their alleged involvement in six cases ofrobbery and vehicle thefts, police said today.

"The arrested have been identified as Anil Kumar (20),Kaushal Singh (22), Mehtaab (32), Pradeep Kumar (33) and AmitKumar (18)," DCP (Outer) Chhaya Sharma said. Anil and Pradeepare brothers.

A stolen auto rickshaw and a mobile phone were recoveredfrom them among other articles.

"They used to hire auto rickshaw and get it halted atsome isolated place on the pretext to answer nature''s call. Assoon as the driver stopped, they used to rob him.

"After that they used to rob tractors by using the robbedauto rickshaw at GTK Road or nearby rural areas. If they foundthat the trolley is attached with the tractor, they used toleave it at the spot," Sharma said.

Later, after using the robbed auto rickshaw in 2-3robberies, they used to dismantle it and leave the skeleton ofauto rickshaw abandoned at an isolated place.
