Youth should join politics, says Rahul Gandhi

Buldhana(Maha), Jan 27 (PTI) AICC General Secretary RahulGandhi today asked youth to join politics and the YouthCongress in large numbers to develop the region and makeadministration corruption-free.

"The doors of Youth Congress are open and anyoneirrespective of caste, creed and religion can join, providedhe follows Congress ideology and has no criminal background,"Gandhi, who is on a three-day visit of the state, said,addressing a conference of Youth Congress workers here.

During the question and answer session, Gandhi spoke oneliminating corruption from the grassroot level and stressedthe need for a corruption-free administration.

"If you are interested in developing the area, garnersupport from locals and get elected as an MLA instead ofblaming the incompetent MLA for not carrying out developmentactivities in that particular area," he said.

The Congress leader flew in from Naxal-affected backwarddistrict of Gadchiroli in eastern Vidharba to the hillydistrict Buldhana in the western region.

He addressed two meetings, one of Youth Congress workersand the second one of the other backward class (OBC) inBuldhana.
