Rupee gains 9 paise against dollar in early trade
Mumbai, Jan 27 (PTI) The Indian Rupee appreciated by 9paise to Rs 45.62 a dollar, snapping its five-session losingstreak, at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market today,supported by the greenback''s weakness against euro and higheropening on the stock market.
Forex dealers said dollar''s weakness against other euroand other currencies overseas and better opening at the stockmarkets kept the rupee''s sentiment firm.
The rupee had lost 3 paise to close at three-week low ofRs 45.71/72 a dollar in the previous session on Tuesday inline with late fall in stocks.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex was upby 117.24 points, or 0.61 per cent to 19,086.69 points in theopening trade today.
