Laboratory for Microwave Materials

Thrissur, Jan 27 (PTI) Chairman of the Atomic EnergyCommission Dr Srikumar Banerjee would inaugurate the HomiBhaba birth centenary Memorial Process laboratory forMicrowave materials at nearby Mulangunnathukavu tomorrow.

The laboratory would function under the centre forMaterials for Electronic Technology (C-Met) of the MinistryCommunications and Information Technology.

C-Met Director, Dr K R Day, said in a statement here thatit had developed several strategically and technologicallyimportment microwaves materials for space, atomic energy,defence and railways.

Recently the C-MET had developed ultra low loss microwavesubstrates for the design of high power solid stateamplifiers, he said addig, the system level evaluation ofthese circuit boards have confirmed their performance in termsof excellent output power, gain and efficiency compared toimported materials.
