Bomb hoax triggers panic in Delhi metro station

New Delhi, Jan 27: The busy Rajiv Chowk Metro station in New Delhi on Thursday, Jan 27 was under the threat of bomb attack, after police received an anonymous call to blow up station.

Police received the call at 2:15pm, stating that a bomb has been planted inside the railway station. The officials said that they closed all the entry points of the station at 3:12 pm, Rajiv Chowk station is very busy and sees a footfall of almost five lakh every single day.

"Bomb squad reached the station at 3:12 pm after which the entry into the station was not permitted. The search is on," police said.

However, metro operations were normal and people were allowed to use the interchange facility at the busy station, Metro officials said.
