Lessons on voting practices should be included in Curr.,SEC

Bangalore, Jan 25 (PTI) State Election Commissioner C RChikamath today called for inclusion of lessons on voters''registration and voting practices in curriculum of primary andmiddle schools to increase awareness among citizens abouttheir voting rights.

"I request the Governor to see that lessons on how toregister yourself as voters and all the voting practices areincluded in the curriculum of primary and middle schools",he said addressing the National Voters'' Day celebrations bythe State Election Commission.

Additional Chief Secretary Shamim Banu exhorted allcitizens belnging to all castes and creed to vote and assuredthat institutions like the SEC will take all necessarymeasures to facilitate voting for the citizens.
