Indore company''s director arrested for evading excise duty
Indore, Jan 25 (PTI) A pharmaceutical company''sdirector was arrested for allegedly evading excise duty to thetune of Rs 2.5 crore on the basis of fake documents.
Central Board of Excise and Customs -Indore Division''sCommissioner V K Varma said today that Pithampur- based SocrusPharmaceutical''s director, Rajiv Agnihotri allegedly evadedexcise duty to the tune of Rs 2.54 crore with the help of fakedocuments following which he was arrested.
He was arrested under the Central Excise Act of 1944for causing loss to the government treasury.
Later, he was produced in a court which has remandedhim in a judicial custody till February nine.
