human chain tomorrow to make Kozhikode plastic-waste

Kozhikode, Jan 25 (PTI): About three lakh people areexpected to form a human chain here tomorrow as part ofmobilising public support for the Mass Action forPlastic-waste-free Kozhikode (MAP).

The human chain will cover a 82 km stretch from Poozhithalato Vaidyarangadi in the district, District Collector Dr P BSalim, told reporters.

Teachers, students, labourers, environmental activists andpeople from various walks of life would join hands to expresssolidarity to the administration''s initiative, he said.

Union minister of state for external affairs, E Ahamed,state ministers Paloli Mohammed, Elamaram Kareem, KadanappallyRamachandran, V Surendran Pillai are also expected toparticipate in the programme, he said.

Renowned writer M T Vasudevan Nair would lead theoath-taking ceremony, he said.
