Head of idol thieves arrested
Kanpur, Jan 25 (PTI) One person was today arrested forallegedly being involved in the theft of ''ashtadhatu'' idolsworth lakhs of rupees from a temple in the city, police said.
"With the arrest of Manoj Gupta, who is head of the groupsuspected to be involved in all the three cases of idol theftthis month, we are hopeful of solving the matter," said SameerSaurabh, Circle Officer of Kotwali Police station.
Three idols were recovered from the possession of Guptaand raids are on to nab two of his associates, he said, addingthat on January 6 these three idols were stolen from Ram Jankitemple in Moolganj area of the city.
