Congress leader takes exception to anti-Rahul remarks

Hyderabad, Jan 25 (PTI) Taking exception to thealleged comments of a close aide of former MP Y S Jagan MohanReddy that Rahul Gandhi is in no way superior to the former,senior Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao today said there is nocomparison between the two.

"These comments by Ambati Rambabu (a former stateCongress general secretary) are very unfortunate. No Congressactivist in the country can tolerate this. The Gandhi-Nehrufamily cannot be compared to others in the country.

"The Gandhi-Nehru family is known for its sacrificesand service to the country. Jagan started a signature campaignto become CM even before the funeral of his father,"Hanumantha Rao told reporters here.

Noting that Congress has encouraged Y S RajasekharaReddy to grow as a leader, he said Congress had made the lateChief Minister state party chief at a young age and continuedto give him various other opportunities.

The MLAs loyal to Jagan should also understand thatthey cannot sail with Jagan, who has been facing allegationsof corruption, Rao added.
