B K Mishra sworn-in as new additional judge of HC

Cuttack, Jan 25 (PTI) Bira Kishore Mishra was sworn-in asan additional judge of Orissa High Court here today.

Chief Justice V Gopal Gowda administered the oath tothe new judge at a simple ceremony inside the HC premises.

������All the judges of the High Court, Lok Pal JusticeP K Patra, former Chief Justice of Patna High Court P KMishra, members of the bar and Cuttack District Collector K KMohanty were present at the swearing-in ceremony.

������After the swearing-in ceremony Justice Mishra shared thebench with senior judge Justice B P Das on his first day inthe new assignment. With Justice Mishra joining the bench, thenumber of judges in the High Court increases to 17, includingthe Chief Justice.

�������Prior to his present assignment, Justice Mishra wasofficiating as Cuttack district sessions judge.

Born in Angul district in 1951, he began his career asa lawyer in Orissa High Court in 1976 after obtaining lawdegree from M S Law College here. He subsequently clearedOrissa Judicial Services (OJS) examinations in 1980 and sincethen was working as a judicial officer of the State in severalcapacities, including a brief stint in HC registry also.
