Bhujbal condemns collector''s murder, seeks MCOCA for culprits
Mumbai, Jan 25 (PTI) Condemning the gruesome killingof Additional District Collector Yashawant Sonawane, the stateMinister for Public Works Department Chhagan Bhujbal todaysaid the fuel adulteration mafia should be booked under thestringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
"It is very unfortunate that we lost a senior officialin the shocking incident. The adulteration mafia should bebooked under MCOCA," Bhujbal, the Guardian Minister of Nashikdistrict where the incident happened, said.
BJP leader Gopinath Munde criticised the law and ordersituation in the state and said one could imagine how insecurethe common man was in the society.
"Sonawane''s killing is a clear indication that themafia are running the state with the support from theGovernmet," Munde alleged.
The state president of BJP, Sudhir Mungantiwardemanded resignation of Home Minister R R Patil and Bhujbal onmoral grounds.
Sonawane was burnt alive at Manmad today allegedly bypetrol mafia when he came across some persons who wereadulterating fuel at a roadside Dhaba. PTI SSGKRK
