AP Minister receives threatening calls

Hyderabad, Jan 25 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Textiles MinisterP Shanker Rao today said he had been receiving threateningcalls since last night after the High Court issued notices to52 companies that had invested in the group companies owned byrebel leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

It was on a letter written by Shanker Rao in October lastseeking a probe by the CBI that the High Court issued noticesto the investors and the Centre on Jagan�s "ill-gotten wealth"by admitting the letter as a writ petition yesterday.

"I have been receiving threatening calls since lastnight. I will take up the issue with Chief Minister N KiranKumar Reddy and AICC president Sonia Gandhi. My crusadeagainst corruption will continue despite such threats,�Shanker Rao asserted.

Addressing a press conference in the state Secretariattoday, the Minister demanded the government seize alldocuments of the companies that had invested in Jagan�s groupcompanies.

The Late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy�s henchmenand Jagan�s friends received undue benefits by using theformer�s name when he was at the helm of affairs, Shanker Raosaid.

The Minister, who was among the prime Jagan-baiters inthe Congress camp after YSR�s death, maintained he had a "softcorner" for the former MP.

"As a human being, I have soft corner for Jagan. As aresponsible citizen, I have respect for law," he said, whenasked if he would pursue the court case against Jagan, whoquit Congress in November last.

Shanker Rao said law would take its own course since theissue was now in the court. "Court is different, humanity isdifferent. I pray to all Gods that they bestow good discretionon Jagan as he is like my son," he added.

Asked if YSR too had a role in helping his son amasswealth, Shanker Rao said now that an inquiry has been ordered,everything would come out.
