Andhra''s Rachabanda programme runs into rough weather in Medak

Sangareddy (AP, Jan 25(PTI) The Rachabanda programme ofthe Andhra Pradesh Government ran into rough weather atseveral places in Medak District of Andhra Pradesh today.

Police lobbed tear Gas shells and used mild lathi chargeto disperse the agitated mob at Cheemalpad village in NarayanKhed assembly constituency.

Trouble began as a group of villagers was opposed toconduct Rachabanda programme while another group of villagerssupported it.

After some time peace was restored in the village andRachabanda programme was conducted, police said.

Collector of Medak district Suresh Kumar said here thatthe Rachabanda programmes was receiving good response and outof 155 planned programmes, 135 were conducted during two days,he said.

Only six villages today boycotted the programme butfour of them have urged authorities to hold meetings in theirvillages, the collector said.
