Voter registration in AP tomorrow
Hyderabad, Jan 24 (PTI) Election authorities in AndhraPradesh will accept applications from all eligible persons forregistration as voters and also for corrections in the photoidentity cards tomorrow.
The applications will be accepted at every pollingstation in the state as part of the celebrations of theNational Voters'' Day, state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)Bhanwar Lal told reporters here today.
"We request all citizens to go to their pollingstation so that they come to know who is their booth-levelofficer. If you are registered, you will get the cardtomorrow. If not, the voters can be in touch with the boothlevel officer," he said.
The booth-level officers are appointed by the ElectionCommission (EC).
The authorities have roped in personnel of the 18,000posts offices, e-Seva citizen service centres in the state forvoters'' enrolment and issuing photo identity cards.
The citizens can also call a toll free telephonenumber: 1800 425 1110 for any queries relating to voterregistration.
The Voters'' Day functions will be organised at all66,795 polling stations, 294 Assembly constituencyheadquarters and 23 district headquarters.
To a query, the CEO said college students will beregistered as voters if the Head of the college or educationalinstitution certifies about their identity and residentialaddress. (More) PTI SJR
