Truck crushes man to death

New Delhi, Jan 24 (PTI) A 40-year-old man was killed whena speeding truck, driven by a drunk driver, ran over him whilehe was crossing a road here, police said today.

Ram Ashre Singh was crushed to death in Model Town areaat around 7:40 pm yesterday, they said.

The truck hit Singh and his head came under the wheels,killing him on the spot.

Singh, a resident of Ashok Vihar, was working in aprivate company. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Truck driver Dilip Kumar (22) was arrested and a medicalexamination confirmed that he was under the influence ofalcohol when the incident took place.
