Second phase work completion in Kerala Soaps to be inaugurated
Kozhikode, Jan 25 (PTI) Kerala Industries minister,Elamaram Kareem, will inaugurate the completion of the SecondPhase development work implemented at Kerala Soaps, a unit ofKerala State Industrial Enterprise, on January 27, here.
Speaking to mediapersons today, A Pradeep Kumar, MLA,Chairman of Reception Committee, said that the functioning ofKerala Soaps, which came to a standstill during 2001 wasrevived after the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front cameto power in 2006.
KSIE was given the responsibility for the revival and in2010 the functioning of the unit was inaugurated.
About Rs 5 crore was earmarked in the budget for thesecond phase modernisation, he said, adding equipment worth Rs3 crore was purchased for the factory.
Kerala Soaps Kairali, Koltar and washwell brand soapswill be launchd in February, he said.
Kerala soaps other brands like Kerala Sandal, Thrill andVep has great demand in neighbouring states, he said,addingthe company has also plans to export to Gulf countries thismonth.
