Punjab NRI cell meet to addresses complaints

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (PTI) The NRI Cell setup by PunjabChief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in his office to speedilyredress grievances of Non-Resident Indians began functioningtoday as it held its first meeting here, an official spokesmansaid.

The meeting was attended by senior administrative andpolice officials, the spokesman said, adding, the Cell hadreceived eleven complaints from NRIs, mostly over propertydisputes.

The complaints were sent to officials concerned forspeedy disposal along with directions to submit the report onthem within 15 days. Action on three complaints was pendingdue to incomplete data, the spokesman said.
